How to make a compostable farewell wreath

Georgie Newbery of Common Farm Flowers shares her method for making a planted spring wreath. This is just one of the ideas Georgie and the Farewell Flowers Directory team will be showcasing in our display at RHS CHelsea Flower Show next month.

If you’ve not yet seen Georgie’s YouTube channel, you can find a multitude of flower growing and arranging tips on it. Here we’re sharing her recent video designed to inspire viewers to have a go at arranging a living wreath of flowers, without using a scrap of plastic.

In this video, Georgie explains why it’s lovely to take the time to be able to make farewell flowers for people you know and shows how it’s possible to make something 100% compostable and beautiful with plants, moss and flexible woody stems woven into a wreath base.

We hope it inspires you if you’re looking for ideas for making your own compostable farewell arrangement.
